Need for Speed World contains “deep, RPG-like progression”

Need for Speed’s MMO isn’t just turn the wheel and go broom broom, if comments from EA’s recent London showcase are anything to go by.

“There will be a deep, RPG-like progression in this game,” said producer Jean-Charles Gaudechon.

“When you level-up, you’re going to gain skills, you’re going to unlock events and new cars and things like that, but the skills system will actually add a new layer of strategy in the game.”

Need for Speed World is a cops versus robbers action racer set across 150 miles of sprawling open world.

The title is currently in closed beta and is expected to release this summer.

From what I have seen of the RPG element of the game, the video makes it look PS2 quality…I hope they ramp it up..because that aspect of the game is looking bad!

Idk, I didn’t like TDU. This sounds neat but like TDU I expect that it will get boring after a few hours of seemingly pointless driving around.
