Gears 2 gets Title Update 6 in “about a week”
Gears 2 executive producer Rod Fergusson has listed the patch notes for the game’s sixth title update over on the official forums.
The notes are rather long, but the gist of it is that you will finally get to join game matches that are already in progress.
There’s also the addition of a new Social Xbox Live playlist available to those who have all of the DLC on their machines, which you can find out all about through here, as well as some exploit fixes and bug killing.
Title Update Six should be available in about a week.

This is what worried me about the initial announcement of Gears 3′s launch date. Surely Fall/Autumn period would be a much more suitable launch date considering the complete failure to sort out MP glitches in the last game.
Seems to me as if they are just releasing this third instalment just to get their moneys worth just within their financial year and not in the interest of gamers who will more than likely have to wait a year or so until the game is half playable online.
At least Bungie took the time to do the beta in order to really give the player the best possible experience on launch day. Do you ever see Epic do the same? I rest my case.
