Report – Red Dead Redemption banned in UAE

Red Dead Redemption 2

According to MEGamers, Red Dead Redemption’s the latest title to be banned in the UAE.

A retailer in the region’s apparently confirmed a ban for the Rockstar San Diego western, but a “no comment” was given by the game’s distributor in the region, Red Entertainment.

Neither Rockstar or parent company Take-Two have commented on the situation as yet.

If true, the game joins Heavy Rain, Dante’s Inferno, Darksiders and others as being prohibited in the Arab state.

RDR’s due out in the US tomorrow, with a UK and European release on Friday.

Well, at least they’ve still got more games than Australia.

@2 Plz stop commenting on sth u have absolutely no idea about.
I’ve been living here in Dubai for about 2 years, it’s nothing like what u think . (off Topic though)
I already have a copy of the game since Friday.
I knew they would ban it just like GTA IV, so I just downloaded the game.
BTW I could buy a copy of GTA IV after all for 170 DHS (about 46$).

It’s a bit of a nonsense rule. there are plenty of small shops around for anyone with the know how to get it.

I didn’t think it would run on Amiga emulators anyway.
