Pokemon Black & White video shows battles, hats

New footage for Pokemon Black and White has popped up, giving DS fans a chance to see where the franchise is going next.

The videos seem to be part of a Japanese game show, with people standing about in strange hats and braces. The action shows everything you’d expect from Pokemon, with battles and the top-down RPG style staying true to form.

As for changes, the graphics certainly look like they’ve had an overhaul, with the animation looking a lot crisper than before. It is also evident the camera now zooms in during battles, although how this affects gameplay remains to be seen.

Pokemon Black and White will be released in Japan this year. There’s no word of a US or UK date at the moment.

what an outdated formula. People just buying it and buying it.

“Kawaii Desune~ Sugo~oi” God, how i hate that famous Japanese actress. She is full of it and full of money and don’t care about pitty Otaku.

    this game is just sad.

It’s great they finally have animated sprites moving right through the battle, but it would have been even better if the Pokemon were 3D models (like Ho-Oh/Lugia on the HG/SS start screen). Game Freak need to fix the Pokemon cries too, they still use those 8-bit sounds.
