Counter-Strike Source gets big-assed update, beta

Valve’s put out a large Counter-Strike Source update into beta.

The update has gone live and the beta’s already full. It features a ton of new functionality developed in collaboration with Hidden Path Studios.

Those participating are now able to get 144 new achievements, a new domination and revenge system, player stats, and more.

This beta will run for a limited, unspecified time, before going live to all Counter-Strike: Source players for free via Steam.

New end of round display with MVP and interesting fact about a player
Updated scoreboard with new icons, visual style, MVP stars, and avatar pictures
New cinematic death camera

Added avatar icons to voice chat, scoreboard, and end of round display
Incorporated many source engine updates

Aah I remember the days of initially playing 1.3 and thinking it wasn’t much cop and a bit weird ‘cos you only got 1 ‘life’ per round.

Then proceeded to play it to death for years… :)
