LG brings 3D gaming to 360… in Korea

lg3d

Engadget’s reporting that an LG TV will allow 360 games to be played in 3D. Woo, and indeed, T.

For ease:

From the looks of the Korean press release, LG and Microsoft have entered into a memorandum of understanding to jointly market LG’s new 3D telvisions along side 3D-capable Xbox 360 games in South Korea, then later expand the partnership throughout the Asia Pacific region. If we’re reading this correctly then it appears set to begin by bundling Xbox 360 3D games with LG 55/47LX9500 LED televisions sometime at the end of June.

Go absolutely mental. Literally lick the windows. Hit the link for more.

Is 3D a load of bollocks, or what?

They could have at least loaded up a multiplayer game.

Can anyone tell what the game actually is? I’m having trouble figuring it out and it’s annoying me; I’m starting to wonder if it’s a Korean game I’ve never heard of.

This will be a spot for lg tv and an experiment for ms that will not leave 3d to sony and nintendo.

I though 3d gaming through many of Microsoft’s comments was frowned upon…and they find 3d gaming (the moment Sony announces the ps3 3d feature) unnecessary and foolish…Now they come around?Next time at least they better shut their mouths when one of their rivals announces something that sooner or later they are gonna add it themselves anyway

HDMI was also useless according to Microsoft…

…and rumble was useless to Sony – what’s your point again?

Probably not proper “3D” then since that would require the games to be patched. And even then the technology is still not optimal since the current generation of consoles hasn’t got the horsepower to render two frames simultaneously at full resolution and 60 fps.

Oh and in that photo, it’s two executives fake gaming to a game that’s not in split screen and in first person. Silly LG.

@2 it is a load of shit. I tested one of the new 3d TVs and they are shit. At least for now these tvs are just not up to the task. I feel sorry for the idiots who will be suckered into buying the early generations of 3DTVs.

3D is only as good as it’s creators intended it to be, in others words for maximum effect it has to be considered from the start of development like 3D movies.

Interestingly enough Microsoft initially considered stereoscopic 3D support for the Xbox 360 during development but canned the idea as the market wasn’t ready no TV’s and need for glasses.

Sigh, Sony journey into 3D gaming, then MS do the same, plus both enter the motion control peripheral market. In other words, none of them are doing anything completely different from each other.

Next gen MS and Sony should make the one system together as they are doing absolutely fuck all for their consoles to be different from each another.

oh please!
360 games are not even in full HD, some games are not even in 720p.

Yes the games will be displayed in 3d but will not show the true 3d form.

It’s like a comparison to Avatar 3d and Clash of the Titans 3d
Avatar= ps3 and clash is 360.

enough said.
