Sir Ben Kingsley to appear in Fable III

Actor Sir Ben Kingsley has confirmed he’s to appear in Fable III.

He now joins a massive list of other celebs to join the Lionhead RPG, including John Cleese, Jonathan Ross and Stephen Fry.

He will play the role of the “King of Mist”.

“I’m a voice in a new video game shortly – Fable III. I’m a wonderful wizard character who is the king of Mist Peak,” Kingsley said to CVG.

He goes on to add: “It’s very energising and good for us actors to realise that [acting] is so diverse now. [Games] are as big a jump now as I suppose when cinema was invented, when people went from the stage to the cinema thinking: It’s not really acting, is it? Now, it’s video games – and it is acting. It’s very demanding.”

Fable III’s due out by the end of the year for 360.

Never realised how much Ben Kingsley and Peter Molyneux look like each other.

Coincidence?…..I think not.

Molyneux was saying that the game has one of the best if not the best cast for a game, and it seems to be that maybe he wasn’t exaggerating for once! :P

BK in Sexy Beast was amazing. The quality of BK’s performance as a Fable character relies entirely on Lionhead’s script writing.

I’m not expecting an Oscar winning performance from any of the cast, to be honest. I did thoroughly enjoy Fable 1 and 2 though, so quality voicework can only be a good thing.

I’m just not entirely convinced that game budgets should go to celebrities, but I suppose the movie and game industries are moving ever closer…
