Rockstar Games Announces ‘Outlaws To The End’ Co-Op Mission Pack for Red Dead Redemption

Free-to-download co-op game play coming to Red Dead Redemption

New York, NY – May 5, 2010 – Rockstar Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), is proud to announce the ‘Outlaws To The End’ Co-Op multiplayer Mission Pack for Red Dead Redemption. Available FREE this June simultaneously for Xbox LIVE® and PlayStation® Network, this brand new co-op mode adds an entirely new dimension to Red Dead Redemption’s game play.

“Multiplayer in Red Dead Redemption offers players a whole new way to encounter the massive open world we’ve created, but we felt the experience would not be complete without co-op game play,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “With these missions, we wanted to create new ways for players to share in the experience of engaging with this amazing landscape.”

One of three downloadable content packs, the ‘Outlaws To The End’ Co-Op Mission Pack features six all-new multiplayer missions full of outlaws, epic gunfights, and revolution for 2-4 players. The ‘Outlaws to the End’ Co-Op Mission Pack offers additional multiplayer XP rewards and brand new Achievements and Trophies to unlock. These six explosive and epic missions will play out across the game world, including:

“Walton’s Gold”
Walton’s Gang have taken control of a mining camp rich with gold. Fight through the camp and load your mine cart with as much gold as you can carry and get out as fast as you can – Walton’s boys have rigged the place to blow.

“The River”
Ride a raft down river, taking out rebel encampments along the way until you reach the rebel stronghold of Nosalida and a final epic battle for the town’s massive weapons caches. Watch out for Gatling gun-equipped enemy rafts.

The Mexican Army has the town of Tesoro Azul under siege. Storm the gates under heavy cannon, Gatling gun and sniper fire to destroy the Mexican artillery placements.

Having free DLC 2 months after release date is a very clever idea to convert renters and the part exchangers to buyers

My intention was always just to rent this like i did GTA4, but the more information they release about multiplayer and DLC the more i think i should buy it.

The longer they can get someone to keep hold of the purchased copy the less money they’ed get at part exchange, until it’s not worth getting rid of.

I don’t have a PS3, so I’m not likely to be buying it for that. :-D

@3 if i was just playing the single player i think i’d rather play it on PS3

But considering the multiplayer it shaping up to be a big deal, i think it’ll have to be xbox for friends and voice chat.

Also, Microsoft might get exclusivity on the future DLC, they seem to with everything else, is there any news on that front?

:D, nah no news on the timed exclusivity thing, I cant see Rockstar giving any more exclusivety to Microsoft now. Same goes to Sony after Agent.

oh is the mysterious 70′s disco inspired Agent a PS3 exclusive then? (i made up the disco part, but here’s hoping)

I see it’s still the same old boring site it was when it was revealed last year.

@11 yeap. I still don’t understand what this game all about. It is set in the late 1970s Thats a Cold War and by Jack Tretton words it will take players into “the world of counter-intelligence, espionage and political assassinations.

If this is a Stealth game from Rockstar, then it has a potential to kick Metal Gear Solid Ass.

1970′s and Cold War is a perfect setting for this. + i hope they will make it without humor. I want something serious from Rockstar and they know how to do it.

There is probably an order in place like Red dead redemption gets all the attention, once that is out its LA Noires turn, once that is out its Max Payne 3, then after that its Agent.

  15. mington

mmmmmm i hope they’re using the la noire tech

  16. Erthazus

@15 i hope not. I hope they will use upgraded version of RAGE, Euphoria engine using Cell Processor and Morphological Anti Aliasing. Thats going to be badass and next gen, no one did it on Ps3 Yet. Even God Of War 3 is the first party title that uses PS3′s Morphological Anti Aliasing in it’s not a full potential.

  17. mington

@16 don’t forget the flux capacitor and the little engine that could :P now thats serious next gen!

    @ 16

Euphoria in the PS3 version of GTA IV used the SPUs in the CELL processor.. did you know?

What the fuck is Morphological Anti-Aliasing..? Other than a really stupid buzzword.

Edit: Just read up on it. It’s basically a cop-out solution for hardware that doesn’t proper dedicated anti-aliasing. Bad anti-aliasing has always been a problem on the PS3 anyway.
