Red Dead Redemption co-op announced, DLC coming this June for PSN and Xbox Live

Rockstar’s revealed the co-op mode for Red Dead Redemption, with a free mission pack to release in June for Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.

“Multiplayer in Red Dead Redemption offers players a whole new way to encounter the massive open world we’ve created,” said Rockstar co-president Sam Houser, “but we felt the experience would not be complete without co-op game play.
“With these missions, we wanted to create new ways for players to share in the experience of engaging with this amazing landscape.”
No exact date was given for the DLC other than “June”.
Presser is below.
Red Dead Redemption releases on May 18 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in the US, with a European release on May 21.

Having free DLC 2 months after release date is a very clever idea to convert renters and the part exchangers to buyers
My intention was always just to rent this like i did GTA4, but the more information they release about multiplayer and DLC the more i think i should buy it.
The longer they can get someone to keep hold of the purchased copy the less money they’ed get at part exchange, until it’s not worth getting rid of.

I don’t have a PS3, so I’m not likely to be buying it for that.

@3 if i was just playing the single player i think i’d rather play it on PS3
But considering the multiplayer it shaping up to be a big deal, i think it’ll have to be xbox for friends and voice chat.
Also, Microsoft might get exclusivity on the future DLC, they seem to with everything else, is there any news on that front?

@11 yeap. I still don’t understand what this game all about. It is set in the late 1970s Thats a Cold War and by Jack Tretton words it will take players into “the world of counter-intelligence, espionage and political assassinations.
If this is a Stealth game from Rockstar, then it has a potential to kick Metal Gear Solid Ass.
1970′s and Cold War is a perfect setting for this. + i hope they will make it without humor. I want something serious from Rockstar and they know how to do it.

There is probably an order in place like Red dead redemption gets all the attention, once that is out its LA Noires turn, once that is out its Max Payne 3, then after that its Agent.

@15 i hope not. I hope they will use upgraded version of RAGE, Euphoria engine using Cell Processor and Morphological Anti Aliasing. Thats going to be badass and next gen, no one did it on Ps3 Yet. Even God Of War 3 is the first party title that uses PS3′s Morphological Anti Aliasing in it’s not a full potential.

What the fuck is Morphological Anti-Aliasing..? Other than a really stupid buzzword.
Edit: Just read up on it. It’s basically a cop-out solution for hardware that doesn’t proper dedicated anti-aliasing. Bad anti-aliasing has always been a problem on the PS3 anyway.
