WoW shown running on iPad via Gaikai
Got about $500 to spend of an iPad? Get World of Warcraft for it.
Or least wait until Dave Perry’s Gaikai comes out. He uploaded a picture over the weekend of the MMO running on the cloud service on his blog.
“Was walking through the office, saw this, thought you’d like to see…
Soon I’ll be able to play WOW with my Cornflakes!”
The future: it’s now officially here.
Gaikai is due sometime this year.

Well thats all fine and dnady but is the person doing 25 man raids in the heat of battle. Show me it running on Ipad during that and I will believe.
And WoW isn’t exactly the best example the game is pretty outdated.

@Pheonix, Gaikai works by running the game on a remote server and streaming the video to the iPad. None of the game code is running on the iPad so it wouldn’t care if you were doing a 100 man raid.

Wouldn’t that still cause problems because there is a lot of rooom for error because you are playing off their server then that server is playing off of Blizzards. There would be a high ping meaning a lot of lag not good for any setting in WoW.

Gaikai is targeting older games to stream rather than the cutting edge, day and date stuff of the ‘pie in the sky’ onlive service.

Thats nothing more than Gametap except gametap has newer games as well as old games.
Not only that has the pricing going to be for WoW by the time this releases there will be 1 game and 3 expansions to buy before playing.

Gaikai will be free, and Gametap isn’t available in EU I think.

Whooo! It’s pretty cool. Finally, a reason for Wow addicts to go outside and use ipad to farm wow gold. I’m really interested to see how it works. Thanks Gaikai!
