Le Carre, Bagley pegged as Kojima influences

spycold

Want to create a massively popular spy game series? Here’s what to read as a first off.

Publisher Hayakawa Shobu is running “Books That Made Hideo Kojima Fair” by putting a MGS: Peace Walker slip cover on six of its books. And they are:

Shadow 81 by Lucien Nahum, High Citadel by Desmond Bagley, The Spy Who Came in from the Cold by John le Carre, Duck Call by Inami Itsuva, The Door into Summer by Robert Heinlein and Hothouse by Brian Aldiss.

Read them all. They’re really good. Thanks, Kotaku and Andriasang.

i bought this book the other day as it sounded awesome, although i’m not gonna get a chance to read it any time soon, might keep it for the airplane for this summers holiday.

Considering Kojima has never had an original idea of his own, this doesn’t surprise me.
