If true – and I’m certain it will be – it’s pretty much the most obvious news ever. Slim was always going to happen, as was a rebrand.

Two conferences makes sense, too – one for Natal, and one that doesn’t piss off the hardcore. Isn’t Nintendo having two as well?

The only hint in the link as to your purported Metal Gear claim is the highlighted ‘MGS’. Whilst plausible that she’s refering to Metal Gear, she could be refering to a game simply from Microsoft Game Studios.

I think Sony is in bi-i-i-ig trouble if they will announce new Slim version and rebrand in US. Because they will have enough time to promote it with REACH, Gears Of War 3 at Gamescom and TGS.

So yeah, probably the biggest Xbox 360 YEAR. But i’m more interested in games.

They probably will show Metal Gear Solid: Rising with Natal and it will be compatible with Playstation Move too. So it’s basically PR move. I am sure for 100% that it is not a new MGS game.

Her next post seems to imply that it’ll be a port of Metal Gear Solid Touch.

So basically:

3) Metal Geat Solid: Rising Natal Demo

Surfer girl said that Hitman 5 would be out in 2008 and will be coming to the Wii. I wouldnt believe a word of it.

Didn’t Insomniac denied going multiplatform for the time being a while back but at some point they may go multiplatform?.

I’m quessing she means by “Insomniac Games will surprise everyone at E3 – probably even Sony”
that they will probably show R3 which it may be technicaly much superior to the previous title(which was a disappointment) and maybe a little bit more advanced than most titles we’ve seen so far that even Sony would be surprised.

One thing is for sure this E3 will be very interesting.Microsoft already hints at some very good stuff including a few things that they hold under wraps while Sony haven’t hinted anything “BIG” but i’m guessing they hold almost everything they’ve got for this year tightly under wraps to surprise us

@30 actually that possible, some companies don’t want to show something. They can give a glimpse to Sony of what they will show. But thats it.

Sony and Insomniac have a deep relationships together since PS1 era and Insomniac just keep it for themself just to protect the demo or trailer for leaks. Thats possible and it’s not the first time Companies do that to protect it’s announcement.

Sony’s work to know that R3 is exclusive to them, thats what they need to know.

Sorry, I don’t buy it. Sony needs to know more than that a game is exclusive to them to allow a devoloper to show it at an E3 conference (one of the main focal points of the gaming calender) without them being fully aware of what is going to be shown…regardless of who they are and how close their relationship is.

@30 It depends…Sony didn’t see the exact same built of U2 from Naughty Dog with the exact scenes before around E3 themselves.
Off course Sony have seen R3 and how it may look like…but surprises also come from the whole presentation which the developer Insomniac is only in charge and has nothing to do with Sony

Well, if that’s the way Sony strategises their E3, then..more fool them. To me, that sounds absolutely absurd.

Tbh, I’m not buying it still. For Sony to go into such a big conference without full knowledge of exactly what is being shown just seems reckless and disorganised.

I’m almost certain that these things are intensely scripted events with full knowledge of every stage of the conference and what is being shown. A bad presentation not only hurts the game being shown but also Sony, especially as it’s an exclusive.

I’d be more inclined to agree if it was multi-platform, but Sony has too much invested in exclusives to let such a thing happen.

Whatever big game is in development for the PS3, and whatever they have ready to show at the presser, Sony has seen. Whoever says otherwise is mad. If that was true, they could just play a video of Rick Astley doing the ‘Helicopter’ with Sony standing there shocked.

It could well be Insomniac are putting a game out for someone else, or it could be a load of tosh all together.

@35 Thats not absurd. They didn’t know about Naughty Dog presentation at all for example. Sony strategy is to give freedom to first party and second party. Thats why they have always awesome games compared to others. They never look at the companies and start doing the work with them. They just let companies to decide what they want.

Sony just give First Party or second party developer like Insomniac Budget and they make a game at the end of the day Sony will come and ask them: Can you show us the game?
Insomniac: Yes we can
They show them build and thats it. But how 1st or 2nd party will present the product depends only on developers choice. They need to tell just how much the time they will spend on it.

surprise for Sony from Inscomniac would be the exact presentation of their game and the reception from people who would see it…which wasn’t good at all from their previous Resistance game.

Rubbish. 1st party, as well as 2nd party, developers pitch their games just like everyone else. Sony does not give them free reign to do whatever they please.

And I’m certain they don’t give them free reign to present what the hell they please at E3 conferences.

Freedom of development (which is what Erthazus is talking about) and the reception of a game, are two very different things.

Of course Sony, nor Insomniac, know how the game will be received, so both will be surprised (given a narrow reading of ‘surprise’) because you can’t know how people will take the game…until they see it.

What I’m denying is that Sony doesn’t know EXACTLY what is going to be shown and HOW it is going to be presented.

You started playing at 7th gen consoles? Sony do that since PS1 ERA. It’s Shuhei Yoshida strategy with 1st party companies. It was that way always. ALWAYS.

I’m inclined to agree. What kind of company would ever risk giving a pot of cash to anyone and then letting them do what they wanted with it? They wouldn’t do that even with an internal studio. And the E3 press conference is their biggest moment in the limelight of the whole year – to say that Sony don’t 110% know exactly what is going to happen down to the last second is just nonsense.

I remember it clear as day how David Jaffe said his game was canned because Phil Harrison doubted it’ll be commercially successful. it’s simply laughable to say they have no idea what’s going on in the studio they own.
