Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Pack costs $15 on Steam

MW2stimpack

Yesterday, Steam posted up a pre-order for the Stimulus Pack for Modern Warfare 2, which is slated for release on May 4.

What you may not have noticed, was that it will run you $14.99 if you don’t pre-order it and get 10 percent off.

Usually, PC maps in the past for the series, and a lot of other titles as well, have been free.

Not the Stimulus Pack, though. It runs the same over on Xbox Live as well.

Hurry though, and get your 10 percent off PC’ers by pre-ordering so you will only pay $13.49.

@1 I have the same experience. For every time I prestige, I try out a new weapon set and it just challenges me all over again. Last time it was ACR/Scar, this time it’s LSW/Tar.

I’d love some free stuff, but those days are pretty much over.

Just look at DLC as a whole. In the old days they’d go an extra mile and make one or two expansion packs, these days we get bitesized portions that may not even compliment eachother.

Sadly people are more compelled to buy several smaller packages than one larger.

Either way, this was a 0 day purchase for me. Pricey, but it didn’t ruin my budget.

I still feel like this is way too overpriced for a few maps.

It’s just odd living in opposite world where things on the PC cost more… when can we got back to normal world?

@3 That’s what makes it fun though. You have to admire a game that actually requires you to shave milliseconds off your reaction time. Although it must be a real chore for newcomers.

@6 Yeah, charging a dollar per skin is way more reasonable. Thank goodness for the indie gods at EA.

HEY! How come its £12 on PC (and inevitably PS3) but only £10 on 360?! >:(

@8 Old argument is old.

Instead of paying out of the nose for content that significantly adds to the content of the game, you get the whole experience up front – every player has the same access to all the same maps.

You have a choice to buy some superficial visual changes to your characters, but you don’t have to – you still get the same experiences as everyone else… at no extra cost. In a multi-player competitive experience, that is always paramount.

And if you buy the game first hand, you get a few additional variations of the existing maps to play on, a little added bonus for supporting the developers and publishers and first hand sales.

Why pay for extra gameplay when you can have it for free?
