Project K details and screens surface

projectk

The first details on the Yakuza game for PSP, Project K, hit the net with some interesting tidbits out of Famitsu.

According to the mag, Project K takes place in Kamurocho like the other games, and tells the story from the 18-year-old protagonist Tatsuya Ukyou's point of view of fighting on the streets with themes of "youth" and "violence".

He has been expelled from school, has spent time in juvenile hall, and starts fighting on the streets becoming "Kamurocho's Strongest Street Fighter."

Tatsuya is not a gangster or in the mob or anything despite being a bit of a miscreant, and becomes involved in a situation that makes him believe that his "destiny is to fight."

The game itself will be told through fully-voiced scenes, through a visual technique that combines still shots and animation designed by Spooky Graphics.

The city in the game will contain the familiar spots from previous Yakuza games, and gameplay will be familiar as well with some new actions and combat systmes thrown in.

Project K is slated for fall, and you can watch the reveal trailer through here if you did not catch it last time.

There's also some new images of the game over on Andriasang, which was kind enough to post all of this lovely information in the first place.
