Okamiden gets 2011 western release for DS

okamiden

Capcom’s confirmed Okamiden will get a western release next year.

The sequel for the quite amazing original, made by Hideki Kamiya and the now deceased Clover, was announced late last year.

It takes place months after Okami, where sun god Chibiterasu has been summoned to restore the world around him.

The exact quote from the PR sent out by Capcom says:

“Taking place many months after the events of Ôkami, Ôkamiden follows the adventures of Chibiterasu – a young sun god who is summoned to protect and restore the land. Armed with a majestic celestial brush and a vibrant cast of partners with unique powers and abilities, this little god is ready to make its mark on the world.”

Loved the original? This is a no brainer: go nuts.

It’ll release in 2011 for Nintendo DS.
