Embargoes are, like, so last century. PlanetXbox360′s posted a bunch of details on Marvel Vs Capcom 3 after its showing at Captivate in Hawaii last week.

EventsHub has a precis:

- Confirmed characters so far are Wolverine, Spider-Man, The Hulk, Magneto, Storm and a few others will return.

- The Marvel vs. Capcom 3 development team said they will be blowing fans out of the water with the sheer number of characters this game includes on the disc.

- This will be another 2D fighter — gameplay-wise — but will be something of a cross between the original Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and Street Fighter 4.

- The rumored release date is late 2010 or early 2011 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, no plans right now for other systems.

- The game will run in 1080p resolution.

- It will be a disc-based release.

- Apparently the game will have unlockables again.

- Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be playable at this year’s E3 which is held on June 15 – 17th.

So. Yeah. You’ll see lots more on this tomorrow when the Captivate embargo lifts.

Thanks, Evil Avatar.

um, i like totally put this on the forum 8 hours ago ;) i want a medal

no doubt it’ll be done in the Tatsunoko vs Capcom engine albeit updated to HD, be nice to get new version of the marvel gang. i hope its a complete redesign of the moves list instead of just copying the 2d spites into 3d, and i hope its a slower paced game then MvsC2, as playing it with a joystick for the first time with the XBLA version wasn’t much fun

what was the pace like in Tatsunoko vs Capcom? anyone, as thats probably not far off what we’ll be getting

    *head explodes

Please God let them say there will be a PC version. I swear I’ll never make fun of Capcom on any show again about them not knowing what mouse support is.

I actually enjoy the pacing of TvC on the Wii. Its a smooth fighting engine with a good pace, similar to street fighter 4′s. The combo system is a little dull when using the Wii remote and nunchuck due to only having 2 buttons. 1 button is for specials and the other is for the hits (it’s like playing marvel vs. capcom 1 with easy mode enabled). If you switch over to the classic controler, the buttons are better mapped out and better for a person that is a little more serious about fighters. I just hope for Marvel vs. Capcom 3, they use a light, medium, hard button system like the good ol’ Marvel vs Capcom 1 days.

I find this news very puzzling.

Didn’t Capcom lose the rights to Marvel a long time ago?

And with Marvel being bought up by Disney, and Disney having their own games development arm(s). You’d have thought they’d have been producing games themselves.

I wonder how they thrashed out the deal for this one?

Can only assume Disney realised if they made a shit game and tried to brand it as a Marvel fighting game in the breed of Marvel vs Capcom it would equal an Epic Fail so common sense prevailed and now we have this to look forward too

@9 Because MvC2 was so successful. Also, I wouldn’t doubt the Disney logo will be on the box, but cross IP collaboration will usually result in the developer handling the publishing, bragging rights and all that mess.

    SHIT HOT!!
Hopefully you’ll be able to use one brawler at a time, like SFIV. That always annoyed me in Mvs.C 2.

Really? I found it one of the most appealing factors of MvsC2 as it allowed you to put thought into creating a team that can deal with different foes

    Fark me!
I hate MvC2! The most broken and unbalanced game ever released!

I’m not looking forward to this piece of sh* unless they make the gameplay balance like MvC1. I hope what they are referring to as MvC2 is the use of 3 players at once.
