Ubisoft's Maxime Béland has told VG247 that as far as Splinter Cell on PlayStation 3 goes in the future, the company is taking a 'wait and see' approach.

In an exclusive interview published this morning, however, the creative director of Conviction said Microsoft "has been wonderful" in supporting the title for Xbox 360, which is exclusive to the platform on consoles.

"We’ll have to see what decisions are made by Ubisoft’s management in the future," he said. "The decision for Conviction was purely a business move. Microsoft have been wonderful in their support for Conviction."

He added: "It’s been an absolute pleasure working with them on Splinter Cell Conviction."

Officially, Ubisoft's said time after time that Splinter Cell: Conviction would be a 360-exclusive, despite numerous claims on the contrary.

Unofficially, however, two CVs had been spotted recently, noting that a PS3 version of the title in the works.

The most recent PlayStation titles in the series were Double Agent for PS2 and PS3 in 2006 and 2007 respectively, with Ubisoft Montreal handling the PS2 version and Ubisoft Shanghai developing for PS3.
