Triple trademark filings from Starbreeze mention Syndicate

According to triple trademark filings, found by superannuation, EA and Swedish developer has trademarked Syndicate.

The filings, which date back to last summer, show that there is very little doubt that the developer is creating a reboot of the series, made by Peter Molyneux and his old stomping ground Bullfrog.

It was announced two years ago EA had signed the developer to create two games for the firm, with the first based on the Jason Bourne series and the other being an unknown title, codenamed Project Redline.

Last month, however, Starbreeze announced it had canned one of the titles, which turned out to be the Bourne title. EA said it was still looking to develop a game in the series.

So long as it doesn’t get ‘reimagined’ as an FPS (much like the recently announced X-Com title), i’ll be interested to see what the house that Riddick made do with it.

I’m thinking something open world with four-player co-op.

First this, now X-Com – what’s next, Dungeon Keeper?

That’d be great, actually! It’d make a brilliant XBLA/PSN game.

Better than that terrible Wing Commander XBLA game, I’d hope.

The game is coming to consoles, therefore, it’ll be dumbed down for fuck-wits.

If its an AAA title then its going to either a third or first person shooter no way it would be anything else.

You could do another Syndicate PC game on a low budget but I guess no one is interested in making one. There’s always the originals to play.
