Still waiting for the first honest 6-7 score pointing out that Ubisoft is shooting old SC-fans in the knees with this action-focused spin-off. They murdered the stealth genre in favour of a new “mass gamer” approach that fits their marketing/sales vision.

Perhaps still a nice piece of action but the real Splinter Cell died years ago…

/nostalgia mode off :P

Seems to be doing quite well, looks like it’ll probably average out at about an 8.

I thought the demo was alright. Nothing to make me run out and pre-order it, but I might give it a whirl when it gets cheap.

ty Johnny, I was w8ing 4 u guys to round them up. looks awesome.

funny though how all the less know publications like “HardGame2 and Boomtown” (who the f**k r these?) rate the game so low. makes u wonder r they bad journalists or do they want some money to get the grade up? or maybe they just want some publicity.

anyway, even with all these good reviews i’m not going to buy this game just because it uses that draconian DRM. unlike some douchebags who will and therefor support Ubisoft and it’s methods of selling games.

@4 Sunshyme it looks like you can still go the stealth way though if you really just wanted to do that.

@6 It plays just fine on a console ;)

@8 I know, they have the stealth options, but years back stealth was a must. You had to ‘master’ stealth to succeed and it felt rewarding. This time, you can get lazy and just go for a big shootout as an easy escape when stealth fails.

Of course will it depend on your type of play (your style), however it is obvious that they transformerd the series into something mainstream. Just bolt action as an option and that’s so not Splinter Cell. They made the use stealth look like just a complex/difficult alternative. That’s my point for a lower review score, although it still can be a nice action title.
