Warner Bros. has filed three trademarks for Netherrealm Studios, which if you have played any of the Mortal Kombat games, the name should be very familiar to you.

What should also be quite obvious is that it probably has something to do with the Mortal Kombat game that the former Midway team, now Warner Chicago, is currently working on.

Supposedly, the new title will contain some online functionality due to a job listing posted for a Senior Software Engineer back in August last year.

Hopefully all will be revealed soon.

Meanwhile, you can thank Superannuation for the sleuthing, and check out the trademarks yourself through here, here, and here.

Sometimes we include links to online retail stores. If you click on one and make a purchase we may receive a small commission. For more information, go here.
