Split/Second DLC outed by Play pre-order program

Friday, 9th April 2010 17:43 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

splitsecond has outed DLC for Disney’s racer Split/Second with its pre-order program for the game.

According to an ad in the latest issue of Edge, those who pre-order the game through the retailer will get the first DLC pack for free.

The ad also revealed that more content will be released later on down the road – likely the same type of DLC racing game fans are accustomed to receiving.

Game’s out on May 21 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 from Black Rock Studios.

Check out the latest videos for the game through here.

Thanks, MCV.

THIS is a GOOD form of pre-order bonus. Publishers take bloody note of this! >:(

    Yes and no.

This is going to be a trend I think. Games holding some content back to charge as DLC while including it as a “bonus” if you preorder/buy the game new.

It is less a perk of preordering and more a way of punishing players/stores(and recouping lost revenue) for buying/selling used.

Normaly I wouldn’t have a problem reducing used games sales. Yet when games are tipping upwards of 70usd each, I can understand ebaying/trading/bargin bin/used games sales more. This is just a way to discourage that, while cleverly pushing the price of the game up(if you include dlc and didn’t preorder.)

Also if companies want us to preorder more, mayhaps they should do more demos so we know if the product os worth putting money down on it before it even comes out.

OldGamer is right, you are very wise in your age. I completely agree with everything that he says and I dont think that I could put it any better!
