Halo: Reach beta maps, details revealed

Halo-Reach-4

May 3rd's less than a month away. You're officially starved for Halo: Reach beta info. So bring your grumbling stomach and exposed ribs over here. We've got just what you need.

IGN's got the scoop on all four of the Reach beta's maps. Swordbase and Powerhouse are set to house traditional gametypes like Slayer and Headhunter. Overlook, meanwhile, comes straight from Reach's campaign, and should provide an interesting change of pace. Last but not least, Boneyard is... well, Bungie's not saying much about Boneyard. It'll have bones? Maybe? We think this is a safe assumption.

"All four maps were chosen in order to test a specific selection of gametypes and team sizes. Sword Base and Powerhouse cover the Slayer, Headhunter, end of the spectrum, Overlook is perfect for the NT 1* ("Generator Defense") game type, and Boneyard is a great landscape custom built for Invasion. Each map brings unique elements that we want to evaluate and hopefully contain enough variety to be appealing for the duration of the Beta," said Bungie's Chris Carney.
