First Crysis 2 video from Times Square, NYC

crysis23

EA showed the first ever public video of Crysis 2 on one of the digital screens in New York’s Times Square tonight. We were sitting in a restaurant round the corner. This means you can watch it after the break.

The footage is very brief, showing off a ruined New York and a glimpse of Nanosuit 2. It contains “missing” faces on pieces of paper, hinting at story elements.

Just watch it, innit. What promises to be one of the biggest games of this year releases for 360, PS3 and PC this holiday.

Heh heh – “we were sitting in a restaurant round the corner”? Show off! :-D

Video was sort of a non-event, sadly. Hopefully the restaurant was better.

This should have been preceded by a Patrick ‘Sex and the City’ skit…

Would have made the load on my horrible internet worthwhile!

people “wooo” at that?

not only was it boring it was also reminiscent of the photo’s of the missing in the aftermath of 9/11 and thus in poor taste

I wouldn’t say poor taste. Americans see the impact 9/11 had on the world and art. What you see as poor taste others see as powerful artistic imagery to evoke a desired emotional response.

WTF was that? I guess we’ll have to wait for a proper GTtv episode to see more or maybe wait for E3. I really want to see how close they can match the PC version on the consoles.

Just a hunch, but I think Pat might’ve been dropping a hint there. As opposed to coughing up a lung.

@14 You seriously think that they will make it close to the PC version for atleast of old Crysis? There is a CryEngine 3 demo already.

And it looks like a Crysis with low-medium settings (not high or even ultra).

Consoles have a max of 7900 Nvidia GPU with 512 MB/RAM each console.

Crysis on minimum – Memory – 1.0 GB RAM (XP) or 1.5 GB RAM (Vista)
Video Card – 256 MB

Of course it won’t look anywhere near as good as on the PC. I’m more interested in their claim that it will set new standards for graphics on each individual console, though. That’s quite a claim for a cross-platform engine.
