Remedy “too small” to develop Alan Wake for PC
Remedy’s stated the reason why it’s not doing a PC version for Alan Wake is down to the fact it’s “too small”.
“We’re a small studio, about 50 people,” said franchise development head Oskari Hakkinen, speaking to Digital Spy.
“Concentrating on one platform is just a lot easier for us where we’re smaller than other studios, and its just been focused, focusing on one platform and getting that done. We have no plans for PC right now.”
Back in February, Microsoft confirmed the PC version which was in development was canceled, meaning the game is now a full 360 exclusive.
We spoke to Hakkinen about Wake and a fair bit more on other stuff earlier in the year. Get it here.
Alan Wake is out in the UK on May 21 for Xbox 360.

Remedy wow remedy we are pc gamers your talking to don’t lie to us…….there are smaller indie game devs that have there games on consoles and pc!
It’s more like you don’t care about your fans base…..Alan was to be a pc high tech game.

I wonder what the hardware companies would think if 9 billion dollars went away…..here more proof Microsoft and sony with some game devs are trying to destroy pc gaming any way the can. I personal think that the gaming Industry should fear pc gamers. They can do a lot more damage than just hurting and changing retail!
how is them now bankrupt game devs these days…..last time I checked 11 000 game devs and counting!

It is a lame excuse if you are developing the game for the 360 you can develope it for the PC because they are similar. Microsoft just gave them a exclusive contract with bag full of money they jumped on that.

wow you must really be a caveman last time i checked a scientist fixed the ozone problem long ago…..not like the many out date and bankrupt console hardware company’s.
Console game devs and hardware companies have a lot to worry about. I mean pc gaming with is free games. EA had to go buy buy play-fish to stay competitive. Even the casual pc gaming market threatens the hardcore console market.
With all the pc gaming dying the gaming media generates
pc companies and engineers are coming out with alternatives that also threaten consoles life span like onlive for example.
By the way if Intel amd invidia and other pc hardware companies ever lose their billions from pc gaming a lot of companies will eat Microsoft, Sony and game devs alive.High end pc gaming is worth 9 billion they will eat
Not only that you will have an army of pissed off pc gamers all over the world mad and hackers too.

some people game devs in their small little group may plot to destory pc gaming but there is big and more powerful companies who watch and take note.
like I said pc gaming is the top of the food chain when it comes to gaming and it will be here a lot longer than the ps3 or 360.

I find this quite surprising since they had developed the game on the PC before MS entered into the frey with a large, blank cheque (Not actually true but.. )
Just also seems odd that a 360, based on PC arcitecture and uses the same resources and virtually the same programming languages as the PC, is the only platform they can develop on.
Looks like MS really wanted a 360 exclusive…
