Crysis 2 “aiming to set the graphical benchmark”, says Crytek

the only single player game that will surpass crysis will be project offset or maybe thief 4 from what I have seen so far.

@5 they already did it. Crysis one looks GRAPHICALLY superior then Uncharted 2 about 10-15 times and its a 2007 game.

Design is worse, but thats another story.

from the demo of Cryengine 3 on consoles i saw at best: Medium settings with few high setting effects of Cryengine 2 and it looks like any multiplatform game.

and PC Crysis can run on Ultra with Direct X11. Thats going to be a real shit.

What part of “on consoles” do you people not understand?

That’s impossible for Crytek to beat God of War III if their engine has to accomodate the XBox 360 AND the PS3.

Time to warm up my extra dimensional super computer again, its time for another Crysis title.

Considering we’ve not even seen concept art for Thief 4, I find it hard to believe you can compare it to crysis 2.

1. what a bunch of losers, comparing crysis 2 with other console titles when every half-smart person knows that PCs have the best graphics available. which brings me to 2. that guy is holding an XM8 in his hands and yet no one mentions anything about the bfbc2 graphics?

@8 You can’t seriously think Crytek are top tier developers. They might be good at throwing every shader effect at the screen that they can, but they know bugger all about making a game fun to play. They clearly learned nothing making Far Cry because all the same gameplay flaws were present in Crysis.

I’d like to see Crytek stop trying to make games that need dual 5970s and actually concentrate on making something fun to play first.

I thought Crysis was fun to play.. I loved it!

and from the looks of it, i’d say they’re on target to meeting that goal.

@15 what? WHAT? Crytek is a top tier 3rd party German developer. They achieved a lot.
They have best German programmers and designers. They are genious.

Every game that they did i loved and Crysis is my favourite shooter of all time (except Crysis: Warhead)

All they need now is an equally excelent art director who can guide them into something more visually interesting then just “realistic man makes things explode, sometimes with trees”.

I really enjoyed Far Cry, but Crysis just felt like a glorified tech demo to me. Stealth and gunplay is monstrously hard to balance, and I don’t think they really mastered it, even though it was gorgeous yadayadayada.

I think also Primal Carnage may out beat crysis

ive played Unchartd 2 just yesterday, and it still lokks way better then anything else, also Gow3 in my eyes.
So i think it will be hard for crytek to achieve this.. even more with multiplat..

But lets see.. they pulled crazy shit with crysis, so why not..
