Rumour – 360 Slim revealed in unofficial shots [Update]

Update: As half the internet is pointing out, this looks very much like 360′s now-defunct HD-DVD drive.
Original: If these pictures from Dutch website GameKings are any proof, what you are seeing is the much talked about slim version of Xbox 360, literally straight out of the box by the looks of it.
The hardware, apparently codenamed “Napoleon,” is compared to the present model, and is noticeably smaller and slimmer than the fat 360.
Currently, only two shots are on the site, but if they are both real, LA is going to be rock to the core come June. But as always with rumour, do take with a pinch of salt [A massive one - Ed].
This comes on the back of a rumour from a couple of weeks ago that a motherboard for a 360 Slim was snapped and uploaded onto the internet, with testing for it already finished in China. That was, however, debunked.
A slim 360 SKU has been heavily rumoured to be on the way since E3 last year, following Microsoft’s Natal showing.
We’ll email Microsoft on this, but as always, expect the usual.

IF true, wow that’s seriously small. Doesn’t look any bigger than A4 paper.

Looks like a pretty good size if it’s genuine. It seems quite thin so hopefully heat isn’t an issue any more, otherwise small fans at running high RPMs will make lots of annoying noise!
Edit: Good point VIP0R, it does look suspiciously like the HD-DVD add-on, and would explain why there aren’t any shots of the front…

Ooh yeah, it does look like the 360 HD but without “360″ on it:

Looks like HD DVD drive…
anyways, will it come with built in power supply like the PS3 and PS3 slim? Or is it another FAIL with a power brick? Besides, it has been almost 5 years since first xbox360, its bit FAIL now to have a SLIM version that late in it’s life cycle.

Erm not really the 360 would stay ahead of the Ps3 easily if they did this.

The slim motherboard was missing the external hard drive connector, but it did have an extra SATA port inside, so there’s a chance it will be internal.

I don’t actually believe this. Its too early for this. I mean if it is true, then in the upcoming months we will see enough leaks.
Probably 1st april joke.

It would be funny if it actually WAS the new 360. Microsoft: ‘Well, we’ve got so many friggin HD-DVD drives left over, we just gutted out the insides and turned it into a slim 360!’

Gamekings is quite respected here in Holland, and I don’t think they will be this stupid to post this if it would be fake…
but then again, it looks like a HD DVD drive and april 1 is not that far away

First of all..the size is exactly the same as HD DVvD Drive.
Second, the picture has been photoshoped, you can’t see the XBOX 360 name on the case. But if you look at photo 2, you see the writing.
Look at the picture i pasted, you can see it as a line. But that fake picture doesn’t. (both of them!).
Look at the rare view

Very green of you Johnny, very green. A two year could tell that wasn’t real and that April fools is around the corner so be very suspicious.
LOL, Garratt bailed you out with that update
