Red Dead Redemption multiplayer detailed in Dutch gaming mag

reddeadredemption3

Looks like Gamer.nl Magazine has the scoop on the multiplayer mode in Red Dead Redemption, which Rockstar has promised to unveil on April 5.

According to the magazine, which has been out for about a week now, the multiplayer is without a lobby and instead starts out in free-roaming mode.

Here’s a excerpt from the mag:

Read Dead Redemption has an extensive multiplayer mode. Instead of a lobby, it begins with a free-roaming multiplayer mode where players can run freely through the game world. They can form gangs with other players they meet there, and this transition can be computer controlled bandits.

Sounds awesome so far, right? Well according to the magazine, you and your gang can also do a bit of hunting or horse keeping as well.

There is also a Gold Rush mode, where it’s every man for himself as players try to collect as many bags of gold as possible.

A tradition deathmatch mode and a variant of Capture the Flag will also be included.

As if we couldn’t wait enough for this already, now the wait until May will be even harder.

You can get an idea of what folks think of the game so far in our previews round-up here.

Thanks, Dutch.

This game will be Vice city multiplied with San Andreas but with cowboys. Life.

Damn. Back on topic though, I feel like this is taking a step back from GTA4. I thought most of those gamemodes were awesome, and the lobby just helped with setting up the game and choosing settings. I don’t really see the advantage of getting rid of it.

Sorry but I think this game will suck. Why? Think of it-old 6 shooters, one shot rifles, and dynamite for weapons are gonna get boring pretty quick. Riding a horse is fun but having to travel long distances will be a pain in the butt…literally.

I can’t see how they can get much variety into the game myself and trying to keep it true to the spirit of the wild west.

I think its got a pretty good selection of revolvers, machcine pistols, sniper rifles, shotguns, and different rifles such as lever action and buffalo rifl plus its awesome using old western weapons because then when you get your hands on a mounted gatling gun it makes you appreciate how powerful it is.

Mike, i suggest you read the previews of the game cause one of them said that Rockstar added a extra punch to the gunshooting. So even shooting with ‘old-ass’ guns is gonna be fun as hell.

In the game Gun, you had to travel ALOT by horse too and i loved it. In Fallout 3, i walked miles and miles, explored and loved every minute of it. Maybe it’s just not your kind of thing, it definitely is mine though.

a better example of what mike3648 is saying about weapons would be The Darkest of Days’ American Civil War missions. neither Gun nor Red Dead Revolver had that kind of problems.

Think of GTA4, the weapon choice was pretty limited there. Two SMGs, two assault rifles, two snipers, two shotguns, two pistols, and one RPG.
