Atomic’s Breach – first shots and impressions from PAX East

Friday, 26th March 2010 07:59 GMT By Patrick Garratt

Atomic, the studio what did the ill-fated Six Days in Fallujah, has shown its next game, Breach, for the first time at PAX East.

The shots are on IGN. You’ll find four videos here.

It’s an XBLA, multiplayer-only soldier shooter for up to 16 people, based around the concept of destructibility and cover. Costing $15, the game will come with three maps, with Atomic considering a fourth if things go according to plan.

Four game modes will be included. Infiltration requires your team to claim certain areas of the map; Operations has you searching for randomly placed bioweapons canisters; Convoy finds one team escorting a truck to an exit point while the other team tries to stop them; and Team Deathmatch.

There’s more on IGN and Kotaku. No date.

If devs are going for realism with their destructible environments, why do they always have small firearms disintegrate wood? Surely it cant be that hard to just have bullets shoot through it rather then reduce it to ash like you’re using a ray gun.

At least in this game you die after getting hit by a couple of shots, im sick of games like cod where it takes a stupid amount to put someone down at times
