Miyamoto: "We were not able to produce fun-enough products" for 2009

Shigeru Miyamoto has admitted in an interview with The Economist that Nintendo's software in 2009 was comparatively sub-par due to a "fun" failure.

"The fact that in 2009 we were not able to sell more than we did in 2008 was simply that in comparison, we were not able to produce fun-enough products," he said.

"There are always ups and downs in this business. As long as we create unique and unprecedented experiences with videogames, there should be nothing to worry about," Miyamoto further added.

2008, huh? We still have nightmares of Wii Music.

Miyamoto's been on a fair bit of a media run recently, having picked up a BAFTA Fellowship last week.
