Report – Canceled Starbreeze game is Bourne

According to a report from the LA Times, the canceled Starbreeze title that was announced yesterday by the developer was the Jason Bourne game that was in development.
An EA spokesperson confirmed it had no titles in development on the series of books from Robert Ludlum or from the movies starring Matt Damon.
The rep further added: “EA and the Ludlum Estate are still discussing making a game based on the Bourne franchise.”
However, several sources closes to the Ludlum estate insist that the partnership between it and EA, made last year after original owner of the rights Vivendi dropped it after its merger with Activision, remains very much intact.
Starbreeze also had a second project in development, known as Project Redline, which is thought to be a reboot of the old Bullfrog-developed IP, Syndicate.

If true, this could be a shame, as my understanding was it had potential; but that politics may have been the cause.

I’m kinda apprehensive to start cheering for a Syndicate reboot. I mean how would you do it? If you did another urban Diablo with guns, I don’t think many people would get it today, and if you went for a modern squadbased GTA approach, would you really recognize it as Syndicate?
Either way, every time Bullfrog gets remembered, an angel gets its wings.
