Molyneux: Focus testing Natal is “almost impossible”

natal

Microsoft Game Studios Europe creative director Peter Molyneux has said it’s very hard focus testing Project Natal.

How hard could it be, Pete?

“It is so different and new that trying to get a focus group to look at it and respond is almost impossible.”

Oh.

The Lionhead boss also told The Times he was still working on the to be announced project in the studio with Natal that we “saw a glimpse of it at E3″ last summer. That project being Milo and Kate.

The last dev status on that was that it was still being worked on from Cologne last August, although more recently, Molyneux said Milo still had a bigger part in a “more dramatic story” to be acted out.

Thanks, Joystiq.

Is it impossible because the focus test room isn’t big enough? :-)

That really doesn’t actually make sense. Something new and different is a reason to *use* a focus group. If it’s impossible for them to respond then maybe that indicates something is wrong with the product. Besides … I thought Don Mattrick said responses from consumers in testing was “Off the chart”.
