Warner to open new studio in Montreal

warnerlogo

Warner Bros. is to open a new studio in Montreal.

The region of Quebec has given the firm $7.5 million to get the developer up on its feet. It hopes to have 300 people working at the new place by 2015, with the focus being to develop games on DC Comics IP.

The new division will be led by Martin Tremblay.

The news comes on the back of Warner buying a "majority stake" in Arkham Asylum developer Rocksteady.

Canada's a popular place for those big ol' dev houses, thanks to all that lovely money; Ubisoft announcing last summer it was to open its second Canadian studio in Montreal, headed up by Jade Raymond.

Press release here. Thanks, IGN.
