Microsoft announces 250Gb HDD now available for 360 [Update]

Update: Apparently, the 120Gb HDD has dropped to $99.99 thanks to the new offering, per Joystiq.

Microsoft has announced that the 250Gb HDD for Xbox 360 revealed through the Dashboard is now available for purchase.

Here's the official word from the press release:

Available in stores today, Xbox 360 introduces the 250GB Hard Drive, which offers more space to store your favorite game and entertainment content. Available at the incredible value of $129.99, the 250GB Hard Drive offers more freedom to download the latest demos, Xbox LIVE Arcade games, full game titles with Games on Demand, TV shows, movies and more straight to your Xbox 360 console.

It also comes with a transfer cable, according to this pic of it from The Major.

Previously, MS had said that 250Gb HDDs were to only be included with bundles, per Aaron Greenberg, back in February.
