Rebellion has released a massive patch for Aliens vs Predator over on Steam, and it’s full of fixes.

One of the main additions is that players no longer need Steam to run dedicated server files, along with the dedicated server now able to use DLC maps, like Swarm which was released last week.

There was also a few fixes implemented into the multiplayer, namely damage from the Predator’s Smart Disc being reduced unless it’s a headshot, and hits from the Predator’s Plasma Caster bolts now no longer knocking down enemies.

The entire list of fixes is a bit thick, so you should head on over to Steam and have a read.

“In multiplayer damage from the Predator’s Smart Disc has been reduced, unless it’s a headshot.”

The disc didnt cause damage, it caused instant death. I assume this means it’ll no longer kill players in one hit now.

Looks like they didnt change anything about Xenomorphs on the other hand. So they’re still piss weak compared to the other species.

I have seen a team of high-ranked Aliens beat the Marines and Predators in some mixed species DM. This is on Xbox LIVE, mind, not the PC.

Will there be a fix for the Alien spawning in some strange multi-coloured gas and then instantly dying? I can’t continue the campaign for that character at the moment.

Its really rare though. Most of the time Predators will go after their long range weapons and Marines will camp. In both cases the alien is forced to get to its target before it can do any damage and thats just to hard to do. Maybe if multiplayer maps had vents and stuff only aliens could take to help them get a sneaking advantage it would be easier but thats not the case.

What i think Rebellion should do is raise the aliens defense and like in the campaign, make their heads explode from headshots so that their acid blood kills anyone to close to them. The fact that Xenomorphs have acid blood is wasted in MP.

Yeah, I definately think the acid blood could be more effective in multiplayer. Also, I meant species DM, not mixed species, in the previous post.
