Tretton “saving the batter” for E3, “promises” Killzone 3

jacktretton

Yum, batter. By the time Sony’s E3 conference ends, we’ll be full of it. In fact, we may even pass out afterwards.

SCEA boss Jack Tretton has said that GDC was “only the frosting on the cake”, stating E3 will be when the big guns come out.

“I’m saving the batter for E3. We will absolutely bring the heat,” said Tretton on last night’s episode of GameTrailers TV.

He further added that “there is a lot to talk about” at the conference.

So what can you expect at the conference to begin with? Killzone 3? Tretton isn’t sure if there will be a reveal at E3, but did say:

“We own Guerrilla [Games] and they did a great job on Killzone 1 and 2. I don’t know whether you’ll see announcements about it [at E3], but I can promise you a Killzone 3.”

The date for Sony’s press conference at E3 is currently unknown, but the party takes place between June 14 – 17.

You can watch the GTTV episode here.

We will see Killzone 3 in E3 2010 and i hope they will make what i want:

1) Destructible enviroments
2) Beter engine
3) Better singleplayer
4) Better dialogs
5) Better graphics (not just stupid palete and lightning effects, shadows that will hide poor enviroments.)
6) Bigger enviroments
7) Vehicles
8 ) More players at multiplayer

thats it. With this, it can sell maybe not like Halo, but much better then 2.22 m worldwide.

Well, its being made by the R* team that dont take ages to do everything so its possible we might see it at E3.
I’m also expecting Starhawk, Infamous 2 and maybe Resistance 3 though i have my doubt about that one.

All sequels for Sony then, i hope they reveal some new franchises as well.

They’ll probably have some new IP’s for Move to show off. Right now though theres alot of proof about that a ton of sequels are being worked on right now. It’ll be interesting to see how many actually make it out this year though.

Out of them all id say Motorstorm 3 will make it this year. The way he talks about Kz 3 i doubt it will be announced at E3, maybe the German games conference whats it called forgot its name .

Edit – actually doubtful Motorstorm 3 will be this year as i doubt Sony will want that and GT going up against each other.

“8 ) More players at multiplayer”

Just curious; how many players do you want in multiplayer exactly?

Definitely talking anti-sense.

Graphics are good, needs t LESS players, I don’t even understand the better engne comment, pperhaps improve it. I donm’t know.

nly good ons are better script, sp, bigger environs and detructible nvironment.

This looks like it’s gonna be an absolutely killer E3 for Sony. Microsoft will really have to step of their game this year.

@PUD

I’d say bigger maps would counter the number of players (in case anyone cant remember KZ2 does 32 players, more then the console versions of BFBC2, same amount as the PC version). Though i bet Sony want more players for KZ3, lets hope map size follows.

As for visuals; KZ2 is still one of the best looking games this gen with only a few others topping it, there definitely isnt anything wrong with it. Though obviously the sequel will probably look better.

@ 9

I’d think Microsoft having their exclusives coming out throughout the year without any long stretches in between (unlike Sony) counts as stepping up their game. In fact I’m holding off on getting GoW3 until June to accommodate their fallow period between that and whatever they choose to bring out for the end of the year (and as far as I’m concerned, if that consists of GT5 and whatever blandtastic shooter, I’ll just give up on them until 2011).
