Alan Wake gets UK 15

The BBFC’s put a 15 rating on Remedy thriller Alan Wake in the UK.
Look: it’s true.
There’s no other detail than that, unfortunately.
The news is yet another indicator that the Twin Peaks-inspired project may actually be releasing, and that this apparent readiness to launch isn’t just another cruel trick. The game’s been in the works since 2005.
Alan Wake releases on May 18 in the US and May 21 in the UK for Xbox 360. Get our full interview with Oskari Hakkinen here.

Not that i’m a horror movie fan, but whats worse then seeing a 15 certificate at the end of a horror movie trailer
what certificate did heavy rain get out of interest?
i guess this game will have a couple of f’s and jeff’s here and there and the odd corpse

From what i’ve seen its pretty rare a game in the UK gets an 18 rating.

There are plenty of fantastic thrillers and horror films which are rated 15. It’s only really excessive gore or violence that pushes the BBFC on to an 18 rating.
Heavy Rain was a 15 as well, btw.

@Gekidami – It won’t be once PEGI is implemented fully. I think this is a PEGI 18 as was Heavy Rain.

It is. Quite a few games that are only 15 in the UK are PEGI 18.
