Study: US spent $3.8 billion on MMOs last year

According to a Today’s Gamers MMO Focus Report by Gamesindustry.com and TNS, Americans spent an eye-watering £2.55 billion on MMOs last year.
The study said that 1.5 million Brits spend an average of £10.50 per month on online games in 2009, but that the figure was dwarfed by US spend.
French MMO revenue was at £145 million for the year, while Germany shed £165 million in the pursuit of levelling up.
The report claimed that, unsurprisingly, World of Warcraft and Runescape were the most popular MMOs in the UK last year, with approximately 750,000 Brits admitting to have played.
