SCEE: GT5 date remains unannounced

SCEE’s told VG247 that a date for GT5 remains unannounced.
It comes as an Italian website reported a Sony rep said the game would release in October at GDC last week.
But a rep from the firm told us:
“We haven’t officially announced a release date for GT5.”
The company couldn’t comment any further.
SCEE said on Friday it plans to announce a date for the Polyphony racer sometime “soon”.
SCEA exec Peter Dille, meanwhile, said last week during the company’s GDC presser the game’s coming this year.

I would like to announce that I won’t be making any announcements yet.

Yeah, ok. The date is officially not announced.
It’s not a confirmation and also a denial.
But in my opinion, if the October date is not true, Sony would have responded differently, like “October is a fake release date.”

my guess is it will release at some point close after 3d firmware upgrade and first sony 3d TVs shipping as a start title for 3D gaming.
GT sells consoles, i guess this time they also hope for GT to sell TVs.

It’s officially announced that I’m going to drop a deuce bomber but I didn’t need to announce it. In fact, a non-announcement would have been better than any announcement. (ofcourse i understand they were most likely responding to a question)
Anyway….that’s the announcement and my interest level in the game as a result.
Now once they ANNOUNCE release date, I can start getting stoked for the release buildup and calendar based reality of finally being able to play the (supposed) greatest racing simulator of all time.

Wow….
I haven’t seen anyone fuck up this bad since Molyneux in the lead-up to Black & White.
Kudos!
