Remedy’s confirmed that you’re going to get additional Alan Wake content in 2010, following the game’s May release.

“We’re going to have more than one episode come out this year,” Remedy MD Matias Myllyrinne told Joystiq.

The developer boss also reiterated the firm’s plan to stick with a TV-style structure for the game in general.

“I think it’ll depend a lot on the audience, but certainly we want to – if we’re successful – we want to do a large Season 2, if you will, at some point,” he said.

To mere mortals, “Season 2″ means “another game”.

The long-in-development Remedy thriller is due on May 18 in the US and May 21 in the UK. Watch Alan in action fighting a combine harvester right here.

Does Season 2 mean another game? In previous interviews they have said other seasons could be also done through DLC, either a large DA Awakening style? Or perhaps a new season release bit by bit over time through dlc. It could mean either a new game or dlc i think

Yeah, I don’t think it necessarily means a new game’s worth of content. 2 games in 1 year seems a bit of a stretch even if all the assets are in place.

I’m sure this so called” Season 2″ will be DLC ripoffs.
Like so many other games nowadays.

    DO NOT BUY DLC! Ever!
This whole DLC strategy just makes makes games more expensive by adding content that should have been on the game disk.

Trials HD and Burnout Paradise laugh heartily at your opinion of content that should have been in the game originally.

(I’m sure there are others, but they immediately came to mind)

They said in this month’s Edge that any DLC will bridge the gap between ‘series 1′ and ‘series 2′. They compared it to a ‘Christmas special’, if you will.

Of course, whether a second game appears or not will probably depend on whether anyone likes the first one. :-)

Haven’t gotten to the actual preview yet, just the little interview in the news section. The one thing that they griped about during that bit was that they felt a little bit ‘constrained’ during the demo that they played. The interviewee said that the game opened up later on.
