Ubi confirms Silent Hunter 5 CE Germany recall

Ubisoft’s confirmed to VG247 that the German Collector’s Edition of Silent Hunter 5 has been recalled, following reports of the game carrying swastikas.
“I can confirm that that the Collector’s Edition has being recalled in Germany,” said a rep in an email statement.
Earlier today it was reported that the PC title’s beefed up SKU still contained swastikas in some form, in contravention to German law.
German courts can jail those using swastikas for any reason for up to three years. The current laws governing the use of fascist symbols in Germany were drafted during the period of denazification in the country at the end of WWII.
Sounds as though the normal edition’s alright though, German bods. Buy that instead.

No, that’s ridiculous is what it is. Hiding the truth of history is like trying to sweep it under the rug.
