PlayStation Move is finally real – everything in one place

Well. It wasn’t Gem, it wasn’t Arc and it sure as hell wasn’t “Kaz Hirai’s magic stick”.
SCE WWS boss Shuhei Yoshida kicked down the door in San Fran last night and announced the PS3 Motion Controller is, in fact, PlayStation Move.
Everything from the press conference is below.
The ones in bold are the biggies. There’s a whole list of who’s supporting the controller as well.

I predict this will beat Natal in the console wars, but the Natal device will be mainly adopted by pc users for interface controls and general desktop use, therefore easily surpassing Move sales.

@7 – my interest in Natal is only as an interface and for my PC, so you may be right. Or I may represent a pretty small sample to go on.

I havent seen anything yet which makes me believe this in an improvement over Wii. They better be working on some much better things both for gaming and non gaming application.

Hmm… that seems overly harsh.

I agree, I watched the demo from sony and watched the guy a couple times make movements that were not caught. I also noted the slower steady pace he was using. Much like the Wii, the controllers did not seem to accurately interpret moves that I would make.
It seems you still have to learn how to move the Move instead of it registering how I actually do move.
Pass…

The only thing unfair in that FT report is “A motion controller was something Sony had to introduce to stay competitive with Nintendo and Microsoft.”
PS Move is all about challenging the Wii or trying to sieze Wii gamers. It isn’t a response to Natal, they were dveloped and announced at the same time.
