Natal for Fable III is “wonderfully additive”, says Molyneux

Molyneux’s just dropped a mega-quote with Natal for Fable III at GDC, saying the motion camera for the game will be “wonderfully additive”.
He just said during his session for the RPG:
“Natal is wonderfully additive to this experience. I can’t give you specifics, but it’s been a real joy to put some Natal stuff in there.”
Lionhead’s also just revealed John Cleese will be voicing the butler in the game.
The game’s due out in time for Christmas. We’ll bring you more from the session soon.

geez Molyneux you just can’t shut up ….
I shouldn’t be surprised you would fail at yet another promise : to stop building up such (unwarranted) hype for your games .

What are you guys whining about?
It’s already been stated that you won’t need Natal to play the game.
“geez Molyneux you just can’t shut up…”
Yeah… talking in a sessions for the game… what was the man thinking?! HOW DARE HE?!
Lord…

I’m just not very confident about Natal. I really think they shouldn’t implement something like that in a triple A franchise like Fable while it’s still very new.
Even when you don’t need natal to play the game.
(Gosh, I’ll probably buy it anyway >.<)

Out of curiousity – won’t the Natal hardware footprint affect the performance of this game?

@Michael O’Connor
Sure let’s act as if there isnt an history with him that could make his PR stunt a bit annoying … .
It would be ok to be enthusiast about your games , everyone usually is and should be . But after so many flat promises , empty hypes , and even mea culpa from the guy , he starts all over again …
At least i’m tired after the whole “you wont believe what feature i’ll change in Fable wich will drive you mad” … wich turned out to be no problem at all for anyone .

I will say it again: I hope someone from Microsoft will kick his ass from Lionhead studios. That old geezer can only fantasize.

What “PR stunt”? Where in this whole thing did he over-hype *anything*? He just said he’s enjoying working with Natal.
OH NOES!
Seriously, quit making mountains out of mole-hills.
“I will say it again: I hope someone from Microsoft will kick his ass from Lionhead studios. That old geezer can only fantasize.”
You do realise that Microsoft last year *promoted* him to Creative Director of Microsoft Game Studios, Europe. Right?
Of course you don’t, you’re just mouthing off. It’s his *job* to be a public speaker for the company’s game.

The internet. Where the most opinionated people complain about other people expressing their opinions.
Copernicus called, O’Connor, turns out you are not the centre of the universe.
Take a day off.

I never claimed to be.
A bit of a “pot calling the kettle black” moment seems to be occurring right now.
“Where the most opinionated people complain about other people expressing their opinions.”
As is anyone’s right, when they opinions are full of ignorance, and in some cases down-right stupidity.

@Michael, you think i don’t know that Microsoft always trying to hype Molynex as a creative master? And i know about this promotion but in reality he is nothing to the industry right now.
He always trying to create the best RPG of all time and it always suck because he don’t care about core gameplay like Bioware with the Dragon Age.
You are trying to defend Microsoft much. Thats embarrassing. Please stop, especially defending Peter…

If Molyneux is saying it, he believes it. People may hate him for getting overexcited and promising on things he can’t deliver… but he’s not going to spout PR unless he feels it’s true.
Of course, his ability to get excited over next to nothing is legendary.

Absoluetly. Problem is, reading most of your posts one would be forgven for thinking that people are ignorant and stupid solely by virtue of disagreeing with you.
“A bit of a “pot calling the kettle black” moment seems to be occurring right now.”
Pots and kettles indeed. The very kinds of comments, attitudes and opinions you challenge so frequently and energeticaly in 360 threads are precisley the kinds of comments, attitudes and opinions you express so frequently in PS3 threads. You would be forgiven for thinking it was two different people if it werent for the constant theme: MS and 360 mostly great, Sony and PS3 mostly bad.

“@Michael, you think i don’t know that Microsoft always trying to hype Molynex as a creative master? And i know about this promotion but in reality he is nothing to the industry right now.”
He was doing it long before he had anything to do with Microsoft. He’s nowhere near as extreme as he used to, so say that they’re trying to “hype” him is utterly ridiculous.
“The very kinds of comments, attitudes and opinions you challenge so frequently and energeticaly in 360 threads are precisley the kinds of comments, attitudes and opinions you express so frequently in PS3 threads.”
Except for the fact that I duly criticise both. Funny how you (and select other individuals) ignore that fact.
You seem to have conveniently ignored everything that proves you wrong, including (amongst many other things) my constant support for Heavy Rain, my regular praise for Sony’s first part line-up (though I still attest that God of War 3 is a terrible game), my recent bemoaning of Microsoft’s terrible line-up of exclusives, and my annoyance with Microsoft’s constant over-hyping – i.e. any time Aaron Greenberg opens his mouth.
In the case of Peter, I don’t see over-hyping here. I simply see a guy excited about his game.

Didn’t ignore that fact at all, and knew before you said it that you’d make such a claim because you really are that predicatble. Which is why I used words and phrases like “mostly” and “so frequently” instead of “always” and “fanboy”.
Like most playground bullies, you act like a poor little victim when anyone stands up to you in return.

All these things are your opinion. None of those things prove me wrong because I’m not saying you have a problem with your own opinion or are not allowed to express your opinion, Im saying you seem to have a problem with other people expressing opinions which DIFFER FROM YOUR OWN, particularly when they are critical of MS or complimentery of Sony, and that you regularly make the type of comment in PS3 threads which you disapprove of so strongly in 360 threads (a comment about your attitude, not bias). And I never claimed you never criticize MS or never support Sony, you just keep insisting that I did. I claim it is MOSTLY the case, an opinion based on your comments which I read.
You just can’t get it, can you? You never do, because you are ALWAYS right.

Incidentally, before it gets asked or said (by anyone), yes I have a PS3. It is my first ever console, bought a few weeks ago to play Heabvy Rain which I was quite disapointed by.

You’re arguing semantics, frankly.
“You just can’t get it, can you? You never do, because you are ALWAYS right.”
I believe my opinions to be right, yes. That’s the whole point of having one. What I criticise is people who present “opinions” that are either ridiculous or misinformed. My issue is with ignorance.
I’m sure that’s not hard to understand.

“You’re arguing semantics, frankly.”
That old line, eh? If you insist….
There is no such thing as right and wrong when it comes to opinions, only verifiable facts. If you think all your opinions are right, and if you think there is no point in having opinions unless you insist they are all right, then you need to pay more attention to the issue of arrogance than of ignorance. Though it would explain an awful lot.

If you don’t like what I have to say mate, that’s really not my issue. I’m not sure exactly what you’re hoping to achieve by arguing my way of doing things. Do you think I’ll “see the light” or something?

I’m not a regular at the forums but so far you guys are being dicks to Michael.
Michael pretty clearly did not have a problem with this guy stating his opinion, he disagreed with the opinion itself; You can’t possibly be inferring from his disagreement of an opinion that he wants said opinion to cease being voiced, because if that’s the case, you’re all grade ‘A’ hypocrites.
The only difference is that you’re dismissing his opinions offhandedly as fanboy junk, while Michael at least makes his point.
And when he points out that he levies criticism and praise at both, you just go ‘I didnt outright call you a fanboy I just called you BIASED’ like you just pulled some cool trick, even though you’re still saying the EXACT SAME THING!
Really, if you knew you couldn’t get away with just saying straight-up that he’s a fanboy without a wall of ass-covering weasel words like ‘MOSTLY’ and ‘USUALLY’ then WHY EVEN POST THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE?
I’m not siding with Michael’s actual position on anything here mind you, but hey, everyone has an opinion.

Missed this bit.
“Like most playground bullies, you act like a poor little victim when anyone stands up to you in return.”
A *victim*? Hardly. I *like* it when people are willing to challenge my arguments and observations. Unfortunately for you, that’s not what you’re doing though. You’re far too busy making attempts at attacking *my* character to justify *your* actions, to actually bother discussing the topic.
There are very few occasions where I will actually directly insult someone (ridiculous morons like RGW being one example), and I never pull the first punch. That’s a fact.
*I* was discussing Peter Molyneux. *YOU* choose to make it about me.
“I’m not siding with Michael’s actual position on anything here mind you, but hey, everyone has an opinion.”
Not as far as the internet is concerned, they don’t. OPINIONS ARE EVIL AND NOT ALLOWED! If you have a critical opinion, you’re a fanboy. If your opinion is different from popular opinion, you’re a troll. So on and so forth.
It is so much easier to insult someone than actually discuss your opinion, especially when in the cases where said “opinion” has clearly been debunked by facts.
People Molyneux did not “over-hype” anything. He was discussing the game in a public play session for the game. Asking to “shut the fuck” makes you look like far more of a fanboy that I ever could, and also makes you look like a moron. What else is he gonna do? Sit there and stare at the walls while the game magically plays itself?
I mean… lord, if someone doesn’t like what I have to say, don’t respond to me. Because I will *gladly* respond back and argue the points you make if you choose to do so. Better yet, grow a spine and discuss your opinions instead of being a pussy about and falling back on the same old boring flames and cheap attempts at insults.
Regardless, thanks for the defence, Norlick. It’s nice to see some common sense for a change, and someone who can respect someone even if they have a difference of opinion.

I agree, a new Magic Carpet would be awesome…
You can’t just go about telling Molyneux to stfu you know, the list of games he’s worked on is freaking legendary… (Stating the obvious.) Maybe some of you are just too young to remember or something…
