Move, PlayStation Eye bundle to cost $100

move2

Sony’s tonight announced it’ll be releasing a PlayStation Eye bundle along with the just-announced PlayStation Move for $100, when the motion controller launches in fall.

Also announced was a hardware bundle that features a PS3 itself, along with the camera and controller. Price was not announced at the event.

Both bundles will come with demos for some of the titles that support Move, although no specific games were announced by SCEA exec Peter Dille or SCE WWS head Shuhei Yoshida.

Move was announced as the name for the controller after nearly a year of speculation. It’s due out in fall.

Find out everything that happened at the event here.

Maybe, but who is going to buy it?

I can tell you who will NOT buy it. And that will be Mr. and MRS. Casual. The very same people they are targeting.

They need a way to drop the price or it will leak/trickle out into the open market place.

Same is also said for Natal, these things can not be expensive. They should be write off trojan horses to move the platform and software.

300usd for the system, and 100usd for the Eye Toy/Move.

Um…want games to play on that?

People who will buy it, will be a broad range. I think mainly though, hardcore – general gamers who don’t want a Wii because they would only play a couple games and forget it. This way, you’ll have a PS3 to play normal games, in 1080p HD and all that jazz, plus a motion control option on top of it. Its basically saying to Nintendo, yeah we can do what you do now too, as well as what you can’t!

This and Natal might not sell at all, but if its done right, this thing has potential. Just don’t blow it, Sony.

$99.99 (less than $100) is a fair price for PSeye + MOVE-controller + 1 game.

I wonder how much it’s going to cost for the FOUR controllers that it looks like I’m going to need for a lot of the two player games.

Jeez. =/

Well hang on, it wasn’t a confirmed price was it.

They’re probably waiting to see what Natal is priced at before they commit to a concrete price.

I just started FF … gotta be honest, not loving it right now.

Great movie, but the game seems to be a bit weak. I am hoping it improves as more char leveling opens up.

hehe, and yea lots of good stuff to enjoy right now. I am waiting on NFS Shift in the mail, and I will spend some time with that.

Just let me know when you have BFBC2, I am still in the teens level wise(upper Staff SGT). Not too far ahead at this point.

I am a core gamer, but I might buy it if it will get my girl to play with me, instead of nagging at me for playing all the time. Looking at the demo (I hope all those how are commenting positive and negative did watch the presentation) you can see its potential. I can’t fit a table tennis table in my apt, and for the core feeling, that fighting game actually looked really good. It was a bit off on a move or two, but I can’t remember how many times I’ve messed up button presses in fighting games so no biggie there. Seriously if that one game with multiple apps comes with teh system for $95 from amazon or walmart (as these two mark down) then its a buy for me just so I an spare myself some had noise and time apart. Sure it will fizzle out and not be used every day, but most of my games haven’t been touched since being beaten so no difference.

@15

I hope its cool.

Really.

But it is basicly going to give your PS3 the ability to play like a Wii. I own a Wii. And I have a wife. You need need to really ask yourself if you want to introduce your girl to the something like the Wii(PS3/Move).

It could be dangerious. It could have undesired consiquences.

For me it is ok. The Wii, and the PS3 and the XB360 are NOT connected. Not even to the same TV. So, when the wife wants to “Workout” with the WiiFit … Or “Go Bowling”, I can still play Battlefield Bad Company 2.

You get your girl playing Move, and you might lose your PS3. My heart goes out to you. I understand where your good intentions are at.

But I warn you, consider your MOVE very carefuly!

With a price like that, this crap will be as popular as the pspGo.

The PlayStation Move Sub-Controller (a.k.a nun-chuck) will be sold SEPARATELY from the bundle? Are you kidding me! Again Sony just stumbles and fumbles on a launch. MOVE=EPIC FAIL!

You can use the DS3 in place of the sub-controller.

100 would be on the high side for sure, but we’re living in a time where peripherals aren’t DOA if they have the right software behind them. Wii Fit, Guitar Hero, Rock Band and even motion plus have spurred people to go and buy it for the right software.

Of what was shown, I really liked the look of the fighting game, but I hope E3 holds a lot more reasons to buy.

I’ve always been a fan of motion control, so I really hope this succeeds. Thank God for the nunchuck add on though!

So, around £60 for the Camera & Wand plus a game? That’s not too bad, is it?

I surmise you’re going to need two Vibrowands for some of those games though, right? Because the nunchuk thing doesn’t do motion control?

I’ll buy it. Would be nice if it came bundled with EyePet or some other full game though…
