L4D, L4D2 to feature cross-platform play between PC and Mac

left4dead26

Valve's confirmed on its Left 4 Dead blog that both games in the shooter series will both be cross-platform compatible between PC and Mac, and that both will feature cross-platform play.

In addition, Mac users will be able to create their own maps and host their own servers.

The game will run natively on OSX, and wont be using emulation software, the blog further adds.

Last night, after hinting about it last week, Valve announced that both its games and Steam will be heading to the land of Apple in April, with Portal 2 being the first sim-ship between PC and Mac when it releases near the end of the year.

Thanks, Joystiq.
