@1 - Obviously you've never had a cat revolt on your hands. I still wake up screaming at night.

I'm one of those insane guys who don't see loading screens and thinks that Deus Ex is still one of the best games ever made, but even without that, there's pretty much zero reason to expect very much of Deus Ex 3. Or "Deus Ex -1, Pretentious Rebellion Subtitle" yada yada.

Deus Ex was one wizard developer pitching a complete story wrapped in gameplay that was so and so, but you bought it hook, line and sinker. Given the practice of hiring washed up mercenary writers in games development today, and the whole gameplay-cloning that plagues the industry, it's probably going to end up as a(nother) lame knockoff of some 1980's flick that deserved to be forgotten in the first place, snappy catchphrases, Sean Connery cameos and all.

It's not so silly when your game is about the proliferation of cybernetics and the merging of man and machine.

At least that's probably what the game's about. Pretty much all we know is that it's a prequel to the first game and the smoking ban hasn't quite taken its toll yet.
