Insomniac working on “more than one game”

Insomniac Games’ Community Manager, James Stevenson has confirmed both of the developer’s studios are working on “more then one game” right now.

Stevenson said there was several projects each on the way, with one each in the developer’s California and North Carolina studios.

He, however, didn’t drop any hints as to what they may be.

“Over the last couple of months, the burning question amongst all of our fans out there has been, “what’s going on?” As far as I can remember, this is the longest stretch of time without Insomniac having announced a future project, leaving many of you wondering what exactly we’re up to in the walls of our Burbank and Durham studios,” he said.

“Unfortunately, this blog will not necessarily address your questions. If you’re hoping that I will announce a future title here, you will be disappointed. That will not prevent me from telling you that we are busy working here on some really cool stuff that we can’t wait to show you.

“What we will tell you is that after the launch of A Crack in Time, there was some well-deserved time off for folks. We began to ramp up on other projects, and are currently underway on more than one game right now (which will be no surprise to anyone who knows how our production pipeline works). We’ve been trying to evolve our production pipeline to give us more time for iteration, as well as better efficiencies along the way,” he further added.

A “surprise Sony sequel” is set to be revealed in the latest episode of GameTrailers TV tomorrow. Could it be Resistance 3? We’ll see yet, kiddlewinks.

You should be insanely shocked if Killzone 3 is developed by Insomniac.

I agree R3 and a new IP, but neither will be announced on Friday.

A third Resistance wouldn’t really be a surprise though, would it?

It could either be something from way back in the PlayStation day’s, or.. well I dunno what else actually.

Crack in Time is good fun, but Tools of Destruction was way better.

Never met the guy (pinches of salt people), but I too hate James Stevenson. He single handedly makes the Insomniac podcast unlistenable… He’s sounds like a self important eater of shit.

It was already confirmed some time ago that their new North Carolina studio was working on a new IP. I’m betting at Burbank they’re working on R3.

The surprise sequel or the other Insomniac game? Because Insomniac wouldnt make a Sly Raccoon and everything seems to point towards Sucker Punch working on Infamous 2. So in both cases i doubt its that.
