Black Rock: Split/Second is the “Modern Warfare 2, Uncharted 2″ of racing games
Black Rock’s Jason Ried has said Split/Second is up there with Modern Warfare 2 and Uncharted 2 in the racing game stakes.
However, the racer’s producer insisted the comparisons were down to the set-pieces in Infinity Ward’s shooter and Naughty Dog’s actioner.
“It’s a tough one. [Activision's] Blur is obviously competition – it’s racing and it’s doing things slightly different as well. But we almost feel we’re closer to Call of Duty or Uncharted in what we do than other racing games,” he said to CVG.
He further added: “Animation-wise, Split/Second is the most ambitious thing that’s ever been done in a racing game. So that is where we come down to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Uncharted 2 comparison – because of these huge set-pieces.”
The racer received a whole dozen new screens at the end of last week. It also got a new subtitle of Velocity, and a release date of May 21 in the UK for PS3, 360 and PC.

It does look that bit more exciting than Blur, though I get the feeling this is going to be better in single-player and Acti’s game will take the multiplayer crown.

i would have used “bfbc2″ instead of mw2. right now, after playing the bfbc2 beta mw2 looks like a joke to me with no dedicated servers, absolutely no admin tool, no mod tools (and yes mods r cool, i mean look at galactic warfare for cod4) bug and cheaters promoted by iw. in cod4 u could have kicked/banned those in a flash, in cod mw2 u can’t. iw decided that they need to have their fun too it seems. anyway, that’s all. out.

If game sucks, and developer clear understand this, and before the game will release remains very little, developers are beginning to speak such garbage

Anyway, developers would talk their games up. It’s all part of PR. I’m pretty sure if you worked on a game as hard as he is you’d probably think it’ll be the best thing ever as well.
