Dante’s Inferno producer has been thinking about a Macbeth game for “years”

If you’d told us years ago that classic works of contemplative literature would make excellent window dressing for games around which phrases like “gore fountain” and “double decapitation” might be thrown, we’d have said you were completely nuts.

“Years” ago, however, Dante’s Inferno Executive Producer Jonathan Knight was already kicking around ideas for a videogame based on Shakespeare’s tragedy Macbeth.

Update: BioWare’s yanked PS3 players hopes back down to earth, saying that “the Unreal Engine is cross platform, hence the PS3 code. This was brought up back in Mass Effect 1 days as well.” Thanks, Soong.

Original Story: Shepard and co. may be trading high fives and somewhat suggestive ass-slaps with Master Chief in the locker room right now, but a few lines of Mass Effect 2′s source code point to a potential PS3 version of the spacefaring sequel.

Dante’s Inferno Super Bowl advert lands on net

Those not interested in football, but who planned to watch this Sunday’s Super Bowl anyway for the Dante’s Inferno spot should thank Industry Gamers for saving them 3 hours of men bashing each other plus another 45 minutes to an hour for the halftime show.

Posted below the break, you’ll get to see the 30-second spot EA paid $3M for with no football required.

Game’s out later in the month for PS3 and 360 and will get some DLC loving in March and April.
