Sony: PS3 has 360 beat on first-party titles, catching up rapidly on third-parties

Underdog. Come-from-behind victory. “Giant enemy crab.” Just a few years ago, Sony would never have associated itself with any of these phrases. But that’s all changed with the bumpy ride that is the PS3.
Now, though, after an extremely successful price cut, the once-humbled console maker seems to be back in the saddle of its high horse. Translation: time for some good old fashioned videogame exec trash talk.

Close call: Final Fantasy will “probably never” become a first-person shooter, says Toriyama

Between Final Fantasy XIII’s extremely linear nature and Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus, one might argue that the Final Fantasy franchise and the ancient art of FPS have been getting a little too friendly as of late.
Fear not, however, as Final Fantasy XIII designer and writer Motomu Toriyama told Kotaku that Final Fantasy will “probably never” try its delicate, manicured hand at a gruff, tough first-person shooter.

Analyst: Wii already overdue for another price drop

Seems like only yesterday we were scanning Toys ‘R’ Us fliers and picking away furiously at Nintendo’s buttoned lips over a potential Wii price drop. Then – shock – it happened.
But that’s not good enough for Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey. He thinks that, with Natal and Arc on the way, Nintendo needs stop treading water before its end of the pool gets a little more crowded.

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands dated, gets Wii pics

Ubisoft has unveiled new details for Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands on Wii, which is being developed by Ubi’s Quebec City Studio.
It’s scheduled to be released on Wii May 18 and 20 in the US and Europe, respectively. We figure its the same date for PS3 and Xbox 360, but to be safe, we sent a mail to Ubisoft.
