Randy Pitchford says Pachter was “wrong” about Borderlands

Randy Pitchford has revealed that making Borderlands was a “labor of love” for Gearbox, which was why it was so hard for him to hear Michael Pachter say that upon release the game would be “sent to die”.

Yakuza 4 – Five minutes of fighting, girls, massage

SEGA’s released a Japanese language video for Yakuza 4, and it’s five and a half minutes long.
It shows loads of punching, fighting, girls, kicking, drinking and so much more that you’ll have to watch it yourselves.
It’s pretty awesome.
Yakuza 3 lands outside of Japan next month, has a demo out in Europe and the US, and Yakuza 4 hits Japan on March 19.

US PSN update, Feb 18 – Sales, ACII, RE5, Yakuza 3 demo

Sony has updated the US end of PSN, and it includes a Ubisoft sale on different game packs and titles.
Yesterday’s ESRB reveal of Molyneux’s Magic Carpet was also released for the US along with six different MAG Avatars for $.49 each.

Remedy explains decision to release Alan Wake on Xbox 360 only

When Microsoft announced at X10 that there would not be a PC version of Alan Wake, it was explained away that the game was best suited for a larger screen – like a television.
According to Oskari Häkkinen, head of franchise at Remedy, playing the game on the telly is more of a preference than anything, as the company has a long history with developing games for PC.

Interview: Alan Wake’s Häkkinen on surrealism, DLC, Max Payne and more

There can be few unreleased games as enigmatic as Alan Wake. The Remedy thriller, announced in 2005 for both 360 and PC, has gone in a matter of weeks from being almost entirely under wraps to a 360 exclusive, a May release, an episodic adventure in an untraditional gaming sense, a project inspired by Twin Peaks and as having “seasons” with planned DLC. It’s all go for Alan and the gang.
Following a blocked writer on a mission to save his wife in the Pacific Northwest, the game is finally gearing up for what looks to be a sizeable launch for Microsoft. We were lucky enough to grab some time in London this week with Oskari Häkkinen, head of franchise at Remedy. Hit the link.
