Super Mario Galaxy 2 trailer from Media Summit is live

Nintendo’s released the new trailer of Super Mario Galaxy 2 shown earlier today at the company’s Media Summit in San Francisco.
It’s after the break.
Simply put: this can’t fail. It looks like it’s just as better as the first title, featuring space dragons, boss fights, mini Bowser and more. And Yoshi of course.
We want this. And we want it now. Luckily, we don’t have to wait long.
The game got a North American release date of May 23 earlier tonight, with a European date expected to be announced tomorrow at a similar European event in London.
Get the trailer below.

Holy shit that looks fantastic. I hope it’s not Wii Motion plus exclusive.

Oh man, this looks like it’s gonna be insanely hard.
Not that that’s a bad thing.
*laughs in the general direction of the PS3 / 360 fanboys who thinks the Wii is irrelevant*

Not a fan of the Galaxy series personally, but if I had a 5-10 year old, I’d probably be excited for this (for him).
Hopefully he’ll one day make a direct follow up sequel to Mario64, not requiring the waggle remote.

When I played SMGalaxy part one I was blown away. This game is just pure fun, and it always makes me smile like I’m a eight years old again playing on my Atari ST2600 for the first time…
F*ckin’ Magic!!

This game is going to own like a piece of own pie that’s been baked my Mrs Own herself while she was wearing an “just owned you” apron and listening to “I’m owning the own” on the Ownage Industries radio.

@ 10
Don’t Worry You Ain’t Missing Anything, It’s Garbage Compared To The New Super Mario Bros (Wii, DS) Or Even The Classic Super Mario Bros (NES, SNES) Games For That Matter.

I still don’t like it. I hope the kids don’t make me play this one too.

I never got on with SMG either. Tried a couple of times. Loads of great ideas let down by what I thought were poor controls, surprising for a Mario game.

@ 16: The controls were spot on for me and there was zero input lag. As a matter of fact I can’t imagine a better controlling game than SMG.

Sometimes I wonder if my copy of SMG had a different game in the box to the one that everyone else bought!

@17
How could there have been zero input lag when waggle gestures were used for some?
